MIS Fuel Monitoring Limited (Merridale) of Wolverhampton has led the development of fuel management systems for twenty years. This success has enabled the company to establish a broad customer base from haulage and road transport to municipal authorities and emergency services.
The journey started in 1994 with the launch of Merridale FuelFX – the industry’s first true ‘Windows’ based fuel management software. Whilst this continues to be a main stream product, more recent developments have evolved to meet different operational requirements of customers today.
“Merridale will never compromise on quality”
Solutions include FuelSite for single sites and FuelWorks for network users – the latter providing the basis for real time and web-based reporting services.
As a privately owned company, Merridale’s management was restructured in 2010 to refocus on the long term aims of a sustainable business. The top team includes Paul Ledbury, product development; John Russell manufacturing and service support and Stephen Hannan sales and marketing.
Since restructuring, the company has not only achieved financial stability, it has also secured its independence – which further strengthens the management commitment to high quality products and building long term relationships with its customers.
Together with a rolling programme of development, this ethos has put Merridale at the cutting edge of technology. All of its product developments stem from actual customer experience and operational requirements. There has never been any temptation to force ‘new’ generations of software onto the market or cut corners by using cheaper components.
“Merridale will never compromise on quality,” says Stephen Hannan. We are focussed on sustainable solutions. In other words – fit for purpose hardware constructed to deliver the highest level of repeatable accuracy as well as many years of service reliability.”
In twenty years Merridale has set out an impressive record of development. Twenty way points on this journey – one for every year are recorded on the company’s historical timeline inside.
One of the most significant developments was the introduction of the Internet and web-based reporting software. Here again Merridale continues to set the pace with the introduction of scheduled reports, and real time facilities for stock control, such as sudden drop alerts to enhance security.
